It's time for summer vacation.

There's buckets of news to share, but I only get to spill a little of it today. Glynn and I are committed to a family project in May, none of which I can talk about until the wonderfulness is complete, but the whole thing starts shortly after May Day and runs past Memorial Day. So there goes much of next month.

Writing-wise, we've passed the mid-point of Blackhearted Bride, our kind-of sequel to The Runaway Mail Order Bride, and we're both liking it so much, we want to write more about the novel's hero, Quincy Fix. But we're setting the manuscript aside, despite our joy, because it's time we finish another, long-delayed project. One Bride for Seven Brothers came out two years, as of next month, and people have been asking for a follow-up story almost since publication.

Yes, I know, the story ends in such a way that almost everyone wonders if a sequel will follow. Everyone except us, evidently; we thought we'd just leave things to the readers' imagination. After several nudges from some very nice (and patient) other folks, we realized there was some interest in how we'd continue the story. Our readers' imaginations are alive and well but those same readers wanted to know if our imaginations still worked.

So, as I mentioned last time, Glynn and I threw some ideas back and forth, liked where things were going, decided to write up a full outline, and came up with pages of material. The Good Witch looked them over, gave her stamp of approval, and said this: "You have to write The 5th Brother."

"We will. We'll finish Blackhearted, then --"

"Hell, no," my friend said. "I've waited long enough. I want to know what happens with Flora, and her new life. Once you're done with 6th Brother, then you need to do 5th Brother, then...whatever you want, but all of the brothers. A series of novellas, one after the other. You guys write so slow, you have to focus. You have to finish it."

I didn't tell her, we were in mid-plot for The 5th Brother already. (I didn't tell her because she'd would want to read it, and I'm not ready for her to read it. From here on out, she waits for the pages like everyone else.) But Glynn and I talked, and we think she's right. We need to roll up our sleeves and complete "all of the brothers".

Which is how we plan to spend our summer. First, family terrificness, then, a laser-like focus on Flora and her husbands. Since G.W. is right, even short projects take us forever to complete, I've decided to give myself a little more writing time. I'm stepping away from posting on this website until at least two of the sequels are complete. I'll jump back in once we're good to go. If you're interested in knowing when the stories are done, but don't want to have to swing by this place every few weeks, join my newsletter list ***here*** and I'll drop you a line.

Happy summer, everyone.

    I'm on Facebook

... but, really, the good stuff is posted here.

    Welcome!

At the back of my paperbacks and e-books, you'll find this:

A collector of vintage Barbies and younger boyfriends, Anne Glynn currently resides in the American Southwest.

The truth is a little more complicated. I'm Anne and my S.W.P. (Significant Writing Partner) is Glynn. Together, we write as 'Anne Glynn'.

However, I am a collector of vintage Barbies and I have, on occasion, collected the younger boyfriend. Not so much these days.

    I'm glad you're here.
